Global Village Builds

Habitat for Humanity International builds homes for deserving families in 93 countries around the world.  Volunteers interested in participating in an international build can do so through Habitat Canada’s “Global Village” program.  Find more information by clicking on this link: www.habitatglobalvillage.ca

We have an active HFH international build volunteer community here in Sarnia/Lambton.  To date, local residents have participated in Global Village international builds to: Poland, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Guatemala, New Mexico, Hawaii, Portugal and the Dominican Republic.

Global Neighbours Alliance Builds

Every one of the 68 Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Canada – including Sarnia/Lambton – contribute a ‘tithe’ each year.  These tithe dollars are managed and distributed by Habitat Canada to selected projects around the world through a program called the “Global Neighbours Alliance” (GNA).  Habitat Sarnia/Lambton has made a commitment to tithe $2,500 for each home that we complete … to Habitat Canada in support of GNA international builds.  One home elsewhere in the world, for each home we build here in Sarnia and Lambton County.  How cool is that!

Upcoming International Builds

Stay tuned!  A call for volunteers will go out when the date and location are finalized.  If you are interested in participating in a Global Village build, please reach out to David.
