Are you interested in playing a pivotal role in a dynamic and thriving not-for-profit organization that is changing lives in Sarnia and Lambton County?  We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper & Executive Assistant.  Reporting to the Executive Director, this is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work/ week which may periodically require a Saturday rotation. The ReStore is looking for a dynamic individual to fill the role of ReStore Clerk.  This is a full-time position requiring forty hours of work per week and may require a Saturday rotation. Under the direction of the ReStore Manager, the ReStore Clerk is responsible for a mix of duties including: the provision of excellent sales and service support to ReStore customers; receiving requests from and coordinating support of ReStore donors; the open/close/balance of cash drawers; and for providing administrative support to the ReStore Manager.  For more information on the position and how to apply, click here.

The Meaning of "Home" Contest

September 30, 2016

Running from October 3 through November 30, the Genworth Canada Meaning of Home Writing Contest encourages students in grades 4, 5 and 6 to explore what "home" means to them and put it in an original composition.  Essays, poems and even video submissions are welcome!  There are prizes for the winning entry and the runners-up.  For every eligible submission received by November 30, Genworth Canada will donate $10 to Habitat for Humanity Canada!  Ask your teachers and principal if your school in participating!  More details available here.

Madison and Benjamin’s father died six years ago, and since then, their mom, Amie has done her best to provide for her children.  It’s been hard, though.  The home they live in is mouldy and in need of repair. Amie works hard to provide for her children, but knows that saving thousands of dollars for a down payment on a house is too big an obstacle.  She doesn’t want to live in a “bad neighbourhood” forever.  She dreams of giving her children a place of their own.  Becoming a Habitat homeowner will give Amie peace of mind, knowing that her children will be safe.  "I can teach my kids…gardening and to build things.” A Habitat home will give Amie, Madison and Benjamin “new hope and a new start.”  Your support will help Amie build a new life for her family as we build 2 semi-detached homes in Watford.  Please donate today.
