Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit, non-governmental, faith-based organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and to making adequate, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action.
Habitat for Humanity invites people from a broad spectrum of social, ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds to work in partnership with us to build both homes and hope for families in need.
This three minute animation will help you understand who we are, what we do and how we do it!
The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton would like to thank NOVA Chemicals Canada Ltd for their generous donation of $5,000. These funds will be directed to our third Habitat Youth Program (HYP!) Build, which begins this September on Alfred Street, in Sarnia's south end. When complete, this whole-home renovation will become home to Danica, Devon and their three children.
Thank you to everyone at NOVA Chemicals Canada Ltd. We truly appreciate your support.
More than 100 people showed up to help celebrate the completion of the Faith Build! Jaon, his son, Adam and his daughter, Evy joyfully accepted the keys at a moving ceremony on Saturday, August 22, 2015. This marked the first time the entire faith community had been approached to build a house rather than just one denomination. More than 20 churches participted - from Anglican, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, United, Baptist and Evangelical churches as well at the Sarnia Hindu Cultural Society. Thank you to all of the volunteers who raised funds and built the house. You all did a fantastic job! Thank you also to our partners - All Weather Windows, Mitten, CMHC, The Home Depot, Blackburn Radio, The Walter J. Blackburn Foundation and the Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton ReStore.
Our volunteers love working in the ReStore - and you will too! We are looking for volunteers to help process donations (test and clean), help staff merchandise the store, assist customers, load and unload vehicles. No experience is necessary! This is a great opportunity for retirees, people returning to the workforce, and students (16 and over) to fulfill their volunteer requirement for school! Join our team - you will be glad you did!
