Sarnia, ON, December 15, 2025 – Today, a new home in Forest will be the pride and joy for a family of six, thanks to Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton and their community partners and volunteers. This home will provide stability and security for many years to come.
“Homeownership is one of the most powerful foundations a family can have. It creates stability, pride, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. This home represents far more than walls and a roof; it’s a place where this family will create memories, find security, and thrive for many years to come. We’re honoured to be part of their journey,” said David Waters, CEO, Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton.
Through the Affordable Housing Fund under the National Housing Strategy, the Government of Canada has committed $368,000 towards Habitat Sarnia/Lambton projects, including this home.
“Our Government is dedicated to partnering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity to build the sort of safe, suitable, affordable housing necessary for healthy communities,” said the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure and Minister responsible for Pacific Economic Development Canada. “Homes like these are where families grow, dreams come true, and futures begin.”
Since 2019, the Government of Canada has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Canada to build more than 800 homes across the country through a $65.1 million national investment through its Affordable Housing Fund, empowering more families to achieve safe, affordable housing.
Habitat Sarnia/Lambton would like to thank the many generous supporters who helped turn homeownership into a reality for the family, including the Government of Canada and the Town of Forest.
