Welcome

Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit, non-governmental, faith-based organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and to making adequate, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat for Humanity invites people from a broad spectrum of social, ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds to work in partnership with us to build both homes and hope for families in need.

Faith in Action

Coming soon!

Through the Faith in Action Program, our goal is to reconnect (& re-energize) with those of faith in our community.  Reaching out to faith groups of all denominations & religions, our porgram is aimed at engaging all in the spirit of advocacy & action.  In the spring of 2015, we will begin our inaugural Faith in Action build, bringing churches together from throughout the Sarnia & Lambton area to build a home for a deserving family in Sarnia.  Our aim is to bring 14 - 15 churches on board for this multi-denomination project with each church taking ownership of one build day in our construction schedule.  A team from each church comprised of 12 - 18 participants (aged 16 & above) will undertake all construction activities that do not require skilled contractors.  Sound interesting?  Reach out to Sarah or Heather for more details!

20 Years of Building Hope

1994 - 2014

The year was 1994...Forrest Gump was the top movie; the New York Rangers won the Stanley Cup for the first time in 54 years; both Friends and ER premiered on NBC...and the City of Sarnia sold Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton a build lot for $1 upon which the first Habitat home in our area was built.
Yes, it's our birthday!  And the past twenty years have seen us build 26 brand new homes in Sarnia and Lambton County as well as renovate and re-sell five others, giving almost 125 folks in our community a place to call 'home'.  In honour of our 20th anniversary, please consider a gift of $20 to help us continue our 20-year tradition of making a difference in the lives of deserving families in our community. 100% of every dollar donated is used to build homes for families in Sarnia and Lambton County.  We are able to promise that because 100% of all of our operating and administrative expenses are paid for by our social enterprise, The ReStore.
It's easy to donate online! Simply click here!  Remember, all gifts to Habitat received by December 31, 2014 may be used as a charitable tax donation for the 2014 tax year.  Also, don't forget that you can designate all or part of your United Way donation to Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton.
Thank you for your continued support!  We can't wait to see what the next 20 years brings us!
